Balca Alper Picht
Founder & Chief Dreamer
Meet Balca Alper Picht, the heart and visionary behind House of Hunny. After earning a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering and an MBA from Koç University, Balca’s journey has taken her between Istanbul, İznik, and Dubai, blending the diverse cultures she encounters into her approach to life and work.
Balca is the driving force behind House of Hunny’s mission to bring a little-known and underappreciated form of natural medicine to the world. Her deep connection to the traditions of the region led her to recognize the transformative power within the natural wonders House of Hunny offers. After seeing firsthand how this ancient natural antibiotic has shaped daily life in the region, Balca realized this was only the beginning of something much greater than simply selling honey.
Her vision for House of Hunny is to create a sustainable, ethical, and cultural ecosystem—a thriving community nestled in the untouched forests of İznik Derbent. By honoring and reviving the rich heritage, values, and customs of this land, Balca hopes to build a family-like community while sharing the most precious resource these lands have to offer: House of Hunny’s Honey.
Zeynep G. Tuncay
Creative Director
Meet Zeynep, the creative soul behind House of Hunny’s visual storytelling.
An architect by training and a nature lover at heart, Zeynep completed her studies at Yeditepe University with a full scholarship and began her career in the design world—gaining experience in interior design, visual communication, social media, and content creation.
Her lifelong bond with Balca and her deep admiration for nature fuel her creative vision. Known for her meticulous eye and thoughtful attention to detail, Zeynep approaches every project with care, intention, and a quiet passion for perfection.
At House of Hunny, she leads a passionate creative team, bringing together diverse talents to craft a cohesive and heartfelt brand experience. With an eye on the big picture and a hand in every detail, Zeynep nurtures a collaborative spirit where ideas bloom and the essence of the brand comes to life—authentically and beautifully. Through her work, she seeks to honor the traditions of this timeless geography and remind us of the quiet wisdom nature offers each day. Osman Koçak
Lead Beekeeper
Meet Osman Koçak, the expert behind House of Hunny’s beekeeping operations. Living in İznik, Osman manages all technical aspects of the beekeeping process, leading a dedicated team and ensuring every step is carried out with care and precision.
A proud member of the 7th generation in a family deeply rooted in agriculture, Osman comes from a long line of growers who have cultivated olives, apples, grapes, peaches, cherries, walnuts, and a variety of seasonal vegetables. With 38 years of experience in farming and more than 25 years dedicated to beekeeping, he carries a rare and grounded wisdom shaped by the rhythm of the land.
Osman’s dedication to the bees and his unwavering commitment to quality are central to House of Hunny’s mission. As the leader of our technical field team, he oversees daily operations in the hives with a deep sense of responsibility and an instinctive connection to the bees. He guides his team with hands-on expertise, ensuring every decision honors both the environment and the integrity of our honey.
Through his work, Osman safeguards the harmony between tradition and innovation, helping House of Hunny remain rooted in ethical, sustainable practices. His contribution is not only technical—it is a living reflection of the land’s heritage and the care that defines everything we do.
